Self-hosted file synchronisation
Solutions
Nextcloud
I'll likely enjoy Nextcloud's non-file-related services, too.
Seems to have good iOS support, as well as a WebDAV interface.
Unfortunately is a rather heavy PHP program with a lot of bulk that I don't need.

I'm just discovering git-annex now. It might be exactly what I've wanted. Just today, I was thinking "I'd love to use Git for file synchronisation, but I'd rather not hassle with manual commits and such."
I don't think I can use git-annex on iOS. }:\ Serving the git-annex directory via e.g. WebDAV may be a satisfactory workaround.
Seafile
Online docs seem broken?
Data is stored in a proprietary format, which I'm a little uncomfortable with.
Syncthing
Decentralised, simple, lovely!
But is decentralisation desirable when we have a dedicated server at our disposal?
