Standard Chinese (simplified: 现代标准汉语; pinyin: xiàndài biāozhǔn hànǔ) is the modern standardised form of Mandarin Chinese, and is often what is meant when people colloquially refer to Mandarin Chinese. Standard Chinese is the national language of China.
