Tuning

Velocity

Velocity controls the length of the consonant part of the sample (i.e. that before the pink line). It can be used to align a sample to the beat if it begins slightly early or late, or to add stress/emphasis (when singing in English). Velocity is very important in English UTAU!

STP

STP cuts off a number of milliseconds from the beginning of a note.

Modulation

"basically how autotuned something is."[cite:@utaforum.net2016quick] 0% is the most autotuned, while 100% is the least.

Folklore

  • Emulating "head voice:" high notes should sung be in a softer voice.

Moresampler

To install Moresampler on Linux:

  1. Install moresampler.exe and moreconfig.txt to some directory.

  2. Create a script $XDG_DATA_HOME/OpenUtau/Resamplers/moresampler.sh:

         LANG=ja_JP.UTF8 «path-to-wine» «path-to-moresampler.exe» "${@,-1}"
    
  3. In OpenUTAU, switch the track's renderer from the default value of WORLDLINE-R to Classic.

  4. Click the gear icon on the track to select Moresampler.
