Instrumentation (music)
In music theory, instrumentation is the combination of instruments used to perform a piece. Instruments are classified by the way they produce their sounds: vibrating strings, vibrating wood, hitting objects, etc.
Inbox
different instruments produce different ratios of overtones
notes come with overtones.
higher notes taper off quicker because the overtones quickly exceed what the human ears can hear.
for the opposite reason, lower notes can sound muddier.
overtones contribute to the "width" of a sound
