-λ€ (verb suffix)
Another versatile Korean verb suffix! In the polite style, -λ€ is an exclamatory suffix that indicates that you are impressed or surprised. -λ€ is also used to make remarks addressed to oneself.
-λ€ is very common in dramas and conversation.
Inflection
-λ€ falls towards the end of the verb. Before e.g. -μ, but after -μ.
Examples
- νκ΅μ΄λ₯Ό μ νμβλ€βμ!
Oh, you speak Korean well![cite:@wiktionary:85724332]
Here, -λ€ implies that the speaker is surprised by the recipient's Korean abilities. If the speaker already knew that person spoke Korean well, they should instead say "νκ΅μ΄λ₯Ό μ νμ μ."
- μ¬κΈ° μβλ€βμ!
Oh, here it is!
- λ²μ¨ 11μμ΄βλ€βμ.
Wow, it's already November!
- μ무λ μ μβλ€βμ.
Oh, look. Nobody is here yet.
